At Prime Sports Institute, we believe youth sports are more than just competition—they’re a third space where young athletes find community, identity, and belonging outside of home and school. To protect that space, we must protect the athletes who rely on it.
Baseline concussion testing gives us a clear picture of a healthy brain before injury, allowing our Certified Athletic Trainers (ATCs) to make safer, more accurate decisions if a concussion occurs. It’s a crucial part of injury prevention and recovery—and keeping kids with their teams where they belong.
When young athletes are sidelined by injury without access to care, they risk more than just physical setbacks. They can become isolated from their teammates and coaches, and too often lack the resources to get timely evaluation, rehabilitation, and guidance to safely return to play. This disconnect can open the door to more serious risks—like substance use, risky behaviors, and loss of purpose.
That’s why, through our Social Purpose Corporation, Prime Sports Community, we’re committed to providing accessible, evidence-based concussion care and injury support for all Whatcom County youth athletes. Our mission is to empower them with the tools, education, and care they need to stay healthy, stay connected, and stay in the game.
