Warren Schick

Acupuncture | Exercise Prescription | Nutrition Counseling

I was born in Montreal and grew up in the Ottawa Valley in Ontario. I made my way to Bellingham via Vail, Colorado, and most recently Boston, Massachusetts. My wife Courtney and I moved to Bellingham in August of 2017 to be closer to family living in Vancouver, BC. Once we finished our graduate work in Boston we wanted to plant roots in a smaller, close nit community with access to mountains. We value community, exercise, and an outdoor lifestyle. Bellingham is the perfect fit!

What do you teach OR What do you do at Prime?

I own a Wellness clinic offering Acupuncture, Exercise Prescription, and Nutrition counseling with a focus on pain conditions, migraine headaches, and orthopedic and sports related injuries.

When & How did you get into it?

When I was in college I shadowed a chiropractor and Chinese Medicine practitioner who worked with people who lived with severe pain conditions. I witnessed such profound changes and experienced just how powerful an integrative approach to health could be.

It was this experience that helped me realize his future was in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. In Boston in 2014, while his wife was completing her Doctorate in Dentistry, he began on his path at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. I’m honored to share his experience and skills with the community of Bellingham Washington.

What are your certifications, qualifications? Tell us about your Unique Experience...

I’m a master acupuncturist, herbalist, and nutritional consultant specializing in the treatment of severe pain conditions, chronic migraines, and sports and orthopedic injuries.

I graduated from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPHS) in2017 with a Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, with a focus in Orthopedic acupuncture. My undergraduate Science degree in Kinesiology from the University of Waterloo gave me a deep background in physiology, anatomy, biochemistry, psychology and human sciences.

What’s your philosophy? Why does it work?

The body has an innate ability to heal itself. In order to heal, we must understand the root cause of the ‘disease’-- the pattern of dysfunction.

I take a complementary medicine approach to healing and believe in an individualized treatment plan to help you reach optimal health and well-being. When given the appropriate conditions, the body will self-correct, heal and thrive. I help you create a plan -- using acupuncture, exercise, nutrition and supplementation --to meet your personal needs so you can feel, move and perform your best.

What do you love seeing happen with customers / clients?

I absolutely love when I can help a patient overcome a limitation in their life, and the "light" of excitement and joy it brings to their lives. It is such a rewarding part of my life.

Why do you like being part of Prime? What makes Prime different?

I am so excited to see so many intelligent and talented providers come together to collaborate on creating the most comprehensive sports and health care program in Bellingham. It is such an amazing resource for this community who put such a high value on activity, recreation, sport and performance.

What else do you like to do/interests/hobbies/family?

My wife, Courtney and I are avid mountain bikers and skiers. Our ideal weekend is a day spent exploring Mount Baker on skis and riding bikes upon Galbraith sprinkled with some camping. We are so excited to connect with family in Vancouver and spend time with our nieces and nephews.

I trained with Warren in Boston for several years and found him to be so helpful in keeping me in good physical condition. He is extremely knowledgeable and curious about his field which translates to excellent work. In addition, he is the nicest, caring, and most delightful and hardworking person.
