Rhys Webb
Licensed Massage Practitioner

My approach is fairly simple and straightforward. First of all, I’m a good listener and communicate well with my clients. I foster compassion and understanding for their complaints and injuries and impart a hopeful and positive attitude. My massage is multi-faceted which blends myofascial and active assisted release, trigger point and proprioceptive techniques with Swedish Massage.  I incorporate diverse methods and ensure that my clients are heard and cared for in an attentive manner while providing a nurturing environment that promotes successful outcomes.

Hi, I’m Rhys Webb. I’m a Bellingham native having ventured off a few times to attend college and massage school in Seattle only to find my way back to this beautiful city I call home.

When & How did you get into massage therapy? I graduated from the Brenneke School of Massage in Seattle in 2002. I became interested in massage after one of my yoga students suggested that it might be natural for me to go to massage school. She was correct in her assessment. I love being a massage therapist and have been practicing in Bellingham for 16 years.

What are your certifications, qualifications? Tell us about your Unique Experience. I have a B.A. in liberal arts and hold certificates in massage therapy/yoga training. I also have an endorsement in intra-oral massage to treat TMJD. For five years I was the lead instructor in the Evening Massage Program at Whatcom Community College from 2012-2017 and have taught continuing education courses for frozen shoulder, carpal tunnel syndrome and massage for headaches. The unique experience I provide for each client is based on careful assessment, proper technique and quality self-care.

What’s your approach/philosophy? Why does it work? My approach is fairly simple and straightforward. First of all, I’m a good listener and communicate well with my clients. I foster compassion and understanding for their complaints and injuries and impart a hopeful and positive attitude. My massage is multi-faceted which blends myofascial and active assisted release, trigger point and proprioceptive techniques with Swedish Massage.  I incorporate diverse methods and ensure that my clients are heard and cared for in an attentive manner while providing a nurturing environment that promotes successful outcomes.

Why do you love doing what you do?/What do you love seeing in your clients? I love massage therapy because each session is unique and tailored to the individual’s needs whether it be relief from stress in their mind, body or a combination of both. It’s a gift to observe the positive change in attitude, pain reduction and increased mobility after my client’s receive massage. It’s what keeps me learning, growing and staying focused in my work.

Why do you like being part of Prime? What makes Prime unique/different?
Prime is a good fit for me because I’m an athlete and versed in sports massage. I have worked at many local races providing post event sports massage for runners. Clients that come to Prime have a variety of services (equipment, trained professionals, classes) to assist them in their training and rehabilitation. Prime offers a customized experience tailored to the needs of each individual.

What else do you like to do/interests/hobbies/family? I like to travel, hike and explore the great outdoors in my free time as well as play guitar/sing. My daughter, Sedona lives with me part time and is on the high school sailing team. My cat, Pearl spends most of her time napping…
